Phillip Cole, LCSW, LCAS Phillip Cole

I completed my graduate training at the University of Michigan in 1972. My clinical experience includes providing both in-patient and outpatient services to children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of psychiatric settings in the metropolitan Detroit area. I was the Clinical Director of The Judson Center (an adolescent residential treatment facility in suburban Detroit) before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1984. In Charlotte, I worked as the drug/alcohol counselor at East Mecklenburg High School and was in private practice for several years before moving to Ashe County in 2006.

I am licensed as both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) as well as meeting the Federal Standard as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

In my private practice I specialize in working with substance abuse problems for adults, particularly as they affect adolescents and young adults. I provide on-site Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD) and individual counseling for trauma victims including military veterans.
